Fingerprinting

Fingerprints are taken on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3 pm to 4 pm. The East Brunswick Police Department only performs fingerprinting for the Township of East Brunswick residents. Applicants should bring the fingerprint card provided to them by their employer or agency. The department does not complete New Jersey State fingerprint cards.

Applicants in need of electronic fingerprinting should contact IdentoGO by IDEMIA.

New Jersey Criminal History Record Checks

The East Brunswick Police Department does not provide background checks or letters of “Good Conduct.”

If you need a background check or letter of “Good Conduct,” you must follow the procedures outlined by the New Jersey State Police at https://www.njsp.org/criminal-history-records/.

The Division of State Police, Criminal Information Unit (CIU) provides fingerprint-based New Jersey criminal history record checks to any resident or person who was previously a resident or was employed in the State of New Jersey requesting a copy of their own criminal history record. A personal record request is typically for the purpose of:

  • GOOD CONDUCT
  • IMMIGRATION
  • NATURALIZATION
  • PERSONAL RECORD
  • VISA
  • INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION
  • FOREIGN BUSINESS
  • EXPUNGEMENT

Once fingerprinted, Applicants and/or Employers will have the ability, within 24 to 72 hours, to download the Personal Record Request letter by clicking on the link, https://njportal.com/NJSP/prr.
